Trail Advisory: Uneven Surface at Certain Stretches of Rail Corridor
26 May 2026
Some stretches of the Rail Corridor may have uneven surfaces; visitors are advised to take care and remain alert while walking or cycling.
Why do some sections become uneven over time?
It was an intentional decision to build the Rail Corridor around some of the mature trees in the vicinity so as to retain them as part of Rail Corridor’s role as an ecological corridor. Over time, these tree roots grow close to the surface and start causing unevenness along sections of the trail.
This is why we monitor these areas regularly and carry out patch repairs when needed to maintain safety while balancing the conservation of existing greenery.
We would like to remind visitors to:
Slow down when approaching uneven sections
Stay alert and focused (e.g. not using mobile devices) when on the trail
You can play your part. Stay safe and focused when hiking. And if you encounter an uneven section or notice any other safety concerns, please let us know via the OneService app or NParks’ feedback form.
