Celebrating Biodiversity and Heritage of our Rail Corridor
Discover the Rail Corridor: Where Nature, Heritage and Community Meet
The Rail Corridor was formerly a railway line that was used for commuting and transporting goods between Singapore and the rest of Malay Peninsula at the beginning of the 20th century. With the return of railway land to Singapore in 2011, the Rail Corridor presented an opportunity as a continuous open space through the heart of Singapore where communities can forge new memories together.
Rail Corridor (South) Closure Notice
From 9 March 2026, a section of the Rail Corridor (South) between after Henderson Road and before Spooner Road accesses is closed for Phase 2 of Trail Improvement Works. The section from Jalan Kilang Barat to Henderson Road access (Phase 1) is now open. You may refer to "Latest News" for more information.
Lighting and Night Access
The Rail Corridor is not lit at night to facilitate nocturnal wildlife movement. Lighting is only provided (from 7am to 7pm) at certain access points, and at Bukit Timah Railway Station community node. We encourage that you leave the Rail Corridor before dark falls.
Two Trail Types, One Continuous Journey
The Rail Corridor features two distinct trail types across its length—from paved Porous Bound Aggregate paths in the south to rustic grass and gravel trails in the north—balancing accessibility, recreation and a closer connection to nature.
